Mendocino County offers many varied climates and terrain due to its huge geographical size. Within one half hour of Vichy Springs and Ukiah are 50 wineries, three museums, Lake Mendocino (water-skiing, sailing, jet skiing and fishing), the Russian River, Rubicon Adventures (whitewater rafting), golf, Cow Mountain Wilderness Reserve (BLM property), bicycling, hiking, Montgomery Woods State Park (redwoods), shopping, restaurants, micro breweries, the Skunk Train, brandy distilleries, live theater, movies, motocross (South Cow Mountain), mountain biking, and river and lake fishing.

One and one half hours from Vichy Springs one arrives at the Pacific Ocean, and the coastal towns of Albion, Ft. Bragg, and Mendocino. There are three distinct scenic routes to the coast. All of the above are located amongst oak/madrone woodlands, ranches, farms, vineyards, orchards, redwood and fir forests with spectacularly beautiful scenery
everywhere.

Local shops and artisans abound throughout the county. Some of their wares are displayed in the resort gift shop and Vichy Springs’ staff can direct you to their studios/shops.
